John W. Zotter
Mr. Zotter joined Zimmer Kunz in 1990 and was promoted to shareholder in 1997. A seasoned trial lawyer, John’s practice is devoted entirely to personal injury, wrongful death and commercial litigation in State and Federal courts in Pennsylvania and Ohio. John handles litigation involving utilities, products, premises liability, nursing and personal care homes, motor vehicles, professional negligence, construction and commercial disputes. In addition, he represents insurers in bad faith litigation, coverage disputes and class action litigation.
A Pittsburgh native, John attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, magna cum laude, in 1985. He then attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctor Degree in 1988. In law school, John served as an Executive Editor of The Journal of Law & Commerce of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
John is a member of the Defense Research Institute. He is also a member of the Allegheny County, Ohio, and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. John frequently serves as an arbitrator in underinsured and uninsured motorist proceedings.
John resides in the Pittsburgh suburb of Upper St. Clair with his two sons, daughter, and wife, Amy, a pediatrician in private practice. John’s charitable efforts are directed to autism research. He is co-founder of the annual Autism Speaks Golf Classic in Pittsburgh.
