Joseph W. Selep
Mr. Selep served as the President/Managing Partner of Zimmer Kunz, PLLC from 1998-2005. A 1981 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, with dual majors in psychology and criminology, Mr. Selep then graduated from the Ohio Northern University Petit College of Law in 1985. In addition, Mr. Selep attended the University of Notre Dame London Law Centre. Mr. Selep is a published author and former Associate Editor of the Ohio Northern University Law Review. Currently, Mr. Selep is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
Since 1985, Mr. Selep has been licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal district courts and appellate courts in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In addition, Mr. Selep is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, a member of the Pennsylvania, West Virginia and American Bar Associations, a member of the Defense Research Institute, as well as the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia and the Pennsylvania Defense Institute.
Mr. Selep is trained in alternative dispute resolution and maintains an active mediation practice.
Mr. Selep has tried or litigated a wide variety of lawsuits in virtually all counties of western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia. Mr. Selep focuses his practice on complex litigation, including medical device product liability, medical and nursing home defense, employment litigation and insurance related litigation.
Mr. Selep and his wife, Joni Mangino Selep, have three children, Justin, Joey and Jordan. The family resides in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania.
