Harry J. Zimmer
In 1958, Mr. Zimmer graduated from Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Management Engineering Degree and was commissioned an Officer in the United States Navy. He spent the next three years on active duty as an engineering officer, spending considerable time in the Mediterranean and Caribbean Sea with the Navy’s amphibious fleet. Although he had not yet attended law school, the Navy recognized his budding legal talent and during his three year tour of duty Mr. Zimmer acted as defense trial counsel at approximately 20 special courts-martial. This experience ignited his desire to embark upon a career as a trial lawyer and upon discharge from the Navy in 1961 he entered the Duquesne University School of Law from which he graduated in 1964.
Since admission to the Bar, Mr. Zimmer has specialized in representing Defendants in the trial of complex litigation, primarily in the areas of product liability, construction law and commercial law. In addition, he has served as independent regional counsel for several corporations faced with extensive litigation in the Eastern and Southern areas of the United States. Mr. Zimmer is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, as well as the Pennsylvania Defense Institute.
Mr. Zimmer and his wife, Norma, are lifelong residents of Western Pennsylvania and have raised five children, several of whom are in the process of obtaining graduate degrees. Mr. Zimmer therefore continues to maintain an active trial practice in his quest for justice and tuition payments.
